the bacolod trip generated some serious sugar highs from eating all sorts of pastries everyday (and subsequent energy crashes felt upon waking up in the morning). my chicken (inihaw, inasal, what-have-you) quota for two weeks was met within the three days i was there.
diane and ferdie's wedding actually pushed through! (and we all thought there would be a last-minute calling off. kidding. no, seriously, we were crossing our fingers. again, i'm kidding.)
of course the best part of any trip are the people you're with, long-time travel companions and newfound friends alike. all are brimming with promises of future travel plans, more sugar and protein, as well as hilarious stories of local beauty pageant talent and q&a portions.
i especially relish the last morning spent with my favorite travel companion tanja in our dirt cheap room at balay kalinungan (lovely place). once in a while, an encouraging ear and an understanding soul is greatly appreciated by someone who is sometimes unsure of what lies ahead. her amazing ability to see through people's shortcomings and expose their big hearts constantly inspires me to be a better judge of people around me.
i hope i'd get the pictures soon so i could share them here. should that happen, that would be a first for bananaducky.
