da real world

my three days in qc was well spent. i was able to talk to pam and ruth about my long-term postgrad plans abroad and they were able to put in their thoughts on the subject. pam warned me about the 'bloody' process of accomplishing the forms. ruth reiterated the need for me to be back in up diliman for numerous logistical reasons.

points heard loud and clear, ladies.

of course, inserted in between were long-overdue how-are-yous with other friends lost in circulation.

closer to home, joffin sent me a hastily-constructed message. check your mail. found in my mail: erin's baby died in utero. 22 weeks. a boy named sebastian thomas. has her husband's eyes and her lips. they're preparing for the baby's burial. a baptism was immediately executed.

now she has one angel.

just realized that the 'has' should've been 'had.' i never get used to referring anybody (let alone what would've been erin's first child) in past tense as they all remain in present tense. they always stay with you.

they all remain within you.
