Saturday morning rain is not falling
Org orientation last Tuesday went well. Mood candle lighting (which led to a brief demonstration of how to put out a paper lantern in flames), pancit, feather souvenirs, testimonials (!) and music. Teehee, but moi of course relished her two songs (all-star ang line-up, haha). Relived short-lived band years with durga and Mamajamas. If not for durga asking me to be the other half of her Indigo Girls tribute fantasy, I would not have taken the stage at Freedom Bar and now-defunct Oracafe. So much for the good old days.
I noticed that there seems to be little interest in classic rock and punk (not Good Charlotte, okay?) among the students I've jammed with so far. No echoes of Led Zep, Doors, etc. I think the time is ripe. Am taking my cue from The Calling's cover of Clash's London Calling. (Seeing double here.)
Speaking of seeing double, those days are long over. After what seemed like 200 years, I finally got my glasses. The optha added extra features - anti-glare for night driving and computer marathons. (Wait, that's only one feature.) Finally have the real deal tortoise frames. Now I have no excuse for not seeing undesirables on the street, haha.
Check out Launch's new Random Radio. A sample of what I heard over the past hour: Beatles' Come Together, Johnny Hates Jazz' Shattered Dreams, Billy Idol's Mony Mony, Goo Goo Dolls' Name, the Stones' Start Me Up and the Doors' Break on Through. Then it went through Springsteen. Still alright with me. Then Richard Marx and the Doobie Brothers. Ngaik.
