Pam and Josh

Last Saturday, Nanay and I attended the wedding of Pam, a former student of hers who fondly calls her "Nanay," and Josh, her boyfriend of five years (or so, I think).

The wedding ceremony was at the Manila Cathedral where, as Jane reminded me, was where Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion got married. Another factoid about the church - it rents for Php 60,000 per hour. I guess you're paying for the air-conditioning and its history.

Nanay was one of the principal sponsors and that gig involved quite a preparation. Of course, the results were delovely, as seen with her ninong counterpart, former Cory secretary Jose Concepcion.

I had to dress up, of course. The invite implores, Filipiniana or formal gown. Since I'm sure I'd look odd in an evening gown, I reprised my Neo Filipiniana look from Gawad Likhaan awards, or as I would call it, my grieving widow look.

Cocktails and dinner followed at the Tall Gallery of the Metropolitan Museum, another first-time visit for me, as well as for the Manila Cathedral. As with weddings, it became a reunion of sorts for Nanay and her former students.

On the way to the bathroom to take one last leak before heading home, we chanced upon a Julie Lluch sculpture. Nanay couldn't resist posing beside it, and so, one last shot (minus the flash, of course).

Once again, our best wishes to Pam and Josh!
