I can see clearly* now the rain is gone**

* As it turns out, reading for long periods of time, reading while on a moving vehicle, reading while lying down, reading with a poor light source CAN contribute to a 20/20 vision.

After a first look-see by the optometrist, my opthalmologist Doc Orville confirmed it - I no longer need the horn-rimmed glasses I inherited from Ate Agnes. I couldn't say "Are you sure?" since he was operating the intimidating equipment and I didn't. There's also the fact that I've been really eating the words off the pages of novels, downloaded journal articles and photocopied materials for weeks now.

So it was only apt that I rarely wear my frames, not unless I'm travelling or watching movies or reading the ticker tape news on TV. (Speaking of ticker tape news, doesn't anybody notice how DZMM Teleradio - Channel 39 on LB cable, Channel 27 on Sky Cable - runs the same set of news items the entire day?) It's this thing on top of my nose bridge that keeps sliding off when my face starts to become oily.

Now, I feel like wearing my glasses.

** And so I thought LB campus will be subject to torrential rains. That way, it makes for the right gloomy weather to finish reading the articles I downloaded last weekend. Instead, there was that rare occurence of grey, quite-blinding sun and no rain, not even drizzle. It made for a great backdrop at Bean Hub with Beng over a double order of 12 oz. americano which she started to regret ordering after a while. (I told her to take sleeping pills tonight. I wasn't kidding.) Not merely contented with coffee, I had glorious Ellen's fried chicken (two pieces) while she had chicken isaw and proven while yakking about the Olympics and the perfect Derridean title for her next critical essay.

Title Nazis are alive and well.
