Downtime...
...because I have nothing new to blog about. Well, yes, there's always something new but my brains are making a balancing act of 'Andrea Dworkin' and 'Linda Williams' and 'John Berger' and 'Angela Carter.'
...because it's all about the relax, don't do it, when you want to get through it. In a way, I'm definitely not doing something - being anxious, that is. Writing and conceiving ideas are so much more in sync these days and for me, that's something to celebrate.
A realization as great as the solar system (I do exaggerate, don't I?), while the jeep was nearing Faculty Center last Thursday to enable me to pass my completion paper for PPL's class: that would be the first anything-paper I wrote and finished in four years. Four years (and only because I don't plan to insert an expletive in the middle). Four years. Jesus H. What was I thinking? Wow. Fouuurrrr yeeeeearrrrs.
I must've been that too much of a perfectionist to even get anything finished. Jesus H.
After giving PPL my paper and the completion form, hunger pangs became the reality, but not too long after espying the announcement at the DAAD door for German extramural classes. Quickly headed to the EL Department to ask about French extramural classes. The lady said the next round is in January and it's under Php 3,000.
Did a little celebrating with B. at Max (only pretended to look at the menu and ordered straight away) and placated the stomach-in-shock afterwards with coffee. I was so wide awake that I could've written the second paper that night.
Of course not!
Much of prep time was library work last Saturday, which brings me to...
...LB for a week! No expensive planned afternoons at Katipunan coffee shops! No feasting on reheated half-boiled rice and Century Tuna Flakes in Vegetable Oil (after eating the same food brought from LB for four straight meals)! No irritation from unhygienic dormmates! No pathetic thoughts of 'Why did I ever think of staying here when I could be at home?'
Yes to coffee at half its city price, even free! (That would be the coffeemaker at home.) Yes to decent meals! Yes to shop people I can actually have a conversation with! Yes to DSL! (Hee)
Bow.
