Wow, the lengths I'll go through just to post. The first computer I was using at Abode was losing the cursor. Couldn't type a thing. Among the place I still regret for not visiting in the US is MoMA, temporarily sited at Queens until November of 2004. I only had two solid days in New York City (a Tuesday and a Wednesday) and it so happens MoMA is closed on both days. What are the chances? I scanned through their e-newsletter for this month and an exhibit that is of interest is titled 'Humble Masterpieces,' a collection of simple gadgets and tools that have become landmarks in practical design. Think Post-Its, Bic ballpens, even Band-Aids. I recall seeing a book at Powerbooks on such items. Speaking of Powerbooks, Pooching texts that there is a group discussion on the Da Vinci Code and (did I get this right?) Mary Magdalene at Powerbooks. Unfortunately, I forgot what day, what time and which Powerbooks branch. (The battery of my phone died.) I did create another blog to serve as my travel 'notebook' However I have, once again, succumbed to laziness. In between plane trips, I've managed to jot down parts of the trip that I'd like to write about. Have to look for those notes. I have a million and one notes - scribbled on Post-Its, little sheets of white paper, torn off pocket notebooks. I have been telling myself to consolidate all of them. For all I know, I've been scribbling the same things all this time. Must employ U's fat-notebook scheme. Aileen posted pictures of her recent Paris trip with Ed. Lovely, lovely pictures. She mentions in her recent e-mail that she and Ed are thinking of moving to London for 2 or 3 years. Good idea, dear, though I'm thinking of the cost of living, but what the hey. Several TOPS people were likewise diligent in their e-mail postings. PJ and her VA beach vacation, Joffin and her continued buzz over her Englewood gig (woohoo!) and Kaye's quest for French fluency. Which is curious since I'm also bent on regaining my French (well, at least scant knowledge) . Contacted She and asked her if I could brush up with her. Turns out she has to brush up as well. Tantan is also with us, I forgot the reason why. Methinks I also have to start learning Spanish. :) U, I could still recount the moment I read Jo's e-mail and saw the word 'Spain.' An even breath-stopping moment when Les informed me that Santiago de Compostela IS in Northern Spain. I really should be paying more attention BIG TIME to my gut instinct. My dream of having a summer home for my (still?) struggling artist friends may just be on the way. |
