Been having mixed feelings about things since last Friday. Methinks the cycle will correct itself this month after its primadonna entry a while back. Can't invoke the moon (oh, the moon, the moon will always remind me of apartmentsadapitan), eleven days until it gets back to hopefuls. Probably caffeine, but could we leave it alone? Alright, 1017 has been lifted but I say oh, and I will stop being jealous.
Eh?
Some things which did made sense this week (in no particular order):
* the 25-peso pasta serving (sort-of marinara) at IRRI caf (special thanks to Anril and the speakers playing the soundtrack of Tic Tic Boom for the ride and not The Phantom of the Opera)
* dropping by LAYB workshop last Tuesday (with the early exit, no, not because of any show I just might miss) and witnessing a hyperactive Carmel
* gleaning through (or over?) Emman's MA thesis this morning (threatened Keno to finish reading it immediately), did get to read a poem on us casual(ties), merci beaucoup
* that very curious conversation with Megs
* Dennis telling me to just skip Reis and get to Campos quick
* Irma and the merits of not buying ten-pero colored pencils and the painful realities of sarcasm administered in the classroom
* my island of a cubicle (one of the best department-related decisions I ever made)
* Tori Amos' The Beekeeper
* Capote, if only because Philip Seymour Hoffman is Capote.
* Henry and June, if only because it has been a while since I found sex scenes to be insightful and beautiful
* students who are not afraid to be students
* teachers who could be taught a lesson or two (or three, or four)
