Dear Mykel,

Your midday text message was quite unexpected. Either you've glanced at my recent blog entries and decided to drop that query or you're just plain eerie for chancing upon my Wednesday malady. We do need to talk shop.

I'd love it if we meet up this weekend. Am having lunch with ex-dormmates, to be followed (last time I checked) by a viewing of Sir Aqs' exhibit in Makati. Maybe we could catch a screening at Cine Europa? I hear from a friend that the lines are hopelessly long (which means one thing - screenings are for free).

Was with U and Dennis for dinner. Or rather, I sat and continued reading Donna Tartt's The Secret History while the two had dinner while watching portions of Darna on cable (with Nanette Medved as Darna). Sat through yet another debate as a judge and (unknown to me) chairperson of the board. (I swear, UPLB orgs only know several activities - quiz contests, debates and newspaper drives/rummage sales.) Have to admit I didn't agree with the decision of the two other judges on the winner of one debate (there were two). Even U, who went with me, was indignant about the decision.

Yes, another knot on my back, the left portion, to be exact.

Have to get back to Tartt. Almost done with Book 1.

Take care.

A.
