note to myself: when in doubt, don't. i'm just hoping i'm still welcome at the hub. really. seriously. i'm still mortified by what i didn't say and prematurely blurted out at the worst time possible. i'm fucking embarassed. am really sorry.
(heave sigh)
whatever happened to the chemical brothers? block rocking beats is playing at launch radio and it never gets old. maybe creepy when heard at unwanted times, but it never lost its bravura.
as the library is in front of my building, there was certainly no excuse to not squeeze in some really, really necessary library time.
i ended up at the third floor, all of my searches located at the PNs, PSs and a Z. by 6:30, we were only two users left. (the circulation section closes at 7:30; the ground floor at 9 pm) by 7 pm, i was the only person left.
the library guy who i assumed was assigned to the third floor to turn off the ac and the lights was nice. i asked if i could leave the books on the table (ala uplb main library). no can do, but i could 'hide' it on the top shelf in front of me. he warned me that another guy inspects if there are stashes among the shelves but with my books on the top shelf, no problem there. nice dude.
oh yes, to you future serial library users, be patient and good to your librarians (seriously, genuinely good, not that chika shit) because they will be patient and good to you too.
speaking of libraries, i was rather depressed with the sorry state of the librarians at the cal section of the diliman library, relocated to the ground floor of that new building which doesn't look that new anymore. the air circulation is bad as ever. worse, they are severely understaffed, so much so that i had to clip the number to my deposited bag myself (no counter person). had a chat with one of the librarians, was rather frank with her about the curt i.d. checker at the entrance. as what happens these days, we cut everyone some slack.
but pray tell, how long can we do that?

hiding library books is evil.
and all along i thought women's thinking is, when in doubt, do. how are you, ma'am amy?
aoife, i got to borrow them the following day, so there :)
as for you cbs, how dare you use the 'women's thinking' line on me! pili ka from the anglo-am or french feminists na pangsasampal ko sa iyo, haha. as for the doubting, i have every reason to do so because when it comes to that department, the score is kulelat when i actually do, kaya moratorium muna.
and yeah, i'm good. (especially when the killers is playing in your ears)
helene cixous should be good. but i much prefer your bare hand, your bare, ambitious hand.
