I just had to publish that chunk because lordy, should that get NOT published, I don't know what I'll do with myself and this computer.

(Can I just say that that was a very unsexy interruption?)

Beyond questions of relationship status and related matters, I am thankful for one thing - that we had an opportunity to have the talk and (I'd like to think) make peace with my rejection months ago. Hurt, anger and things left unsaid - and I know there are a whole lot more that will be aired out at a more appropriate time - were laid out in the open, with no nauseating drama.

I am relieved that he was willing to let go of a little pride and ego and tell me what's on his mind.

And so I say thanks to the three, er, 'lobbyists' who kept the hope for me and him. You know who you are.
