Getting high on real coffee, not New England shit

Am beginning to realize I'll only get to blog in bits and pieces. Bullet-style accounts will have to do for now and for future elaborations when I DO get to sit down and muse over what I've seen and done so far.

New York City is definitely not disappointing. Okay, okay, so is Jersey. (Hahaha) As long as I'm with Durga.

Highlights from yesterday:

1) Distinguished various ethnic sections of Jersey that we drove through getting to...
2) IKEA!! (For a moment I wanted to have kids so I could get to decorate a kid's room. Grand total of one hour.)
3) Whole Foods. We didn't get to see Durga's Whole Foods boy. I did get to taste vegan cheese though. Never again.
4) TJ Maxx, mecca of half-priced shoes. I didn't fit into any pair. Which is good for my credit card.
5) Leigh-cheri, you'll die. We were picked to judge for Nuyorican's Wednesday night open slam. Now I truly understand that poetry IS meant to be heard, not read. If only I got to record it. The guy who won for the night was just awesome. His second poem was just too much for words and too intense I cried.
6) Corona beer is now in good company with good old San Mig Light in terms of favorites.
6) (In)famous New York pizza. It's just a hunka slice of pizza that's thin-crust.
7) Chilly winds slapping on your face. It's a miracle I've not gotten sick since I got here. 8) Aileen's lovely apartment. Small but filled with love.
9) Krispy Kreme donuts. They ARE yummy.
